In order to continue with your application for Humour Writing - Online and Print you must complete this step in the application process. Applicant selection is based on academic criteria and results of these additional requirements. This contains all information to prepare and submit additional requirements for consideration. Applicants will submit a writing sample of between 3000 and 5000 words (no more than 15 pages in length). The sample need not be humorous in tone, but must be prepared according to professional standards: double-spaced, and with name, title, and page number on each page. Your sample should demonstrate an understanding of sentence structure, syntax, grammar and punctuation.
Applicants must submit their writing sample through SlideRoom. SlideRoom is a secure site where additional requirements are collected, scored and stored. Log-in to https://slideroom.com and create your free account. There will be additional instructions once your account has been created.
Applicants must meet both academic and additional requirements in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility does not guarantee an offer of admission.
All additional requirements will be evaluated and a score will be calculated by the academic school.
Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.

Humber’s Humour Writing – Online and Print graduate certificate program provides you with the opportunity to develop comedic writing across different forms, styles and genres of humour. In this online program, you will examine theories of comedy and the evolution of comedic writing. The program includes peer feedback components in which students will be required to write and revise, and give and receive constructive criticism on works-in-progress. You will gain a practical understanding of the comedy writing industry through engagement with comedy writing professionals. You will produce original comedic works ready for publication and gain a practical understanding of the comedic writing and print humour process.Courses Learning Outcomes
