In order to continue with your application for Acting for Film and Television, you must complete this step in the application process. Applicant selection is based on academic criteria and results of these additional requirements. This contains all information to prepare and submit additional requirements for consideration. If you have any questions, please contact Admissions.

Additional Requirements

Applicants are required to attend an audition and provide two letters of reference. Applicants must submit a $50 assessment fee upon registration for this admissions event. Please see “Registration Instructions” below.

i. Audition

Applicants are required to memorize and perform two contrasting (dramatic/comedic) speeches from a contemporary play, screenplay or teleplay.

Your chosen speeches must meet the following criteria:

  1. Speeches must be thoroughly memorized and between 1 to 2 minutes long. The auditor may interrupt you if you exceed the time limit or cannot remember your lines;
  2. The character should be someone within your age range (+ or – 5 years) and suit your personality;
  3. Only published material may be used (i.e. no self-written monologues). Please note: some monologues (e.g. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Mean Girls) are overused by applicants. Your choice of materials should be unique and suited to your personality;
  4. Small props such as cell phones are acceptable.

ii. Letters of Reference

Applicants are required to bring two letters of reference to their audition. The letters must be from someone, other than a relative, who has knowledge of your work/study habits.

All applicants: Please note that missing letters will delay your application.
