Roger West

Professor for Electricity

Roger has worked in the performing arts in Toronto for more than 25 years, mainly as a Technical Designer, Technical Director, and Production Manager.

Roger served as Technical Director of Tarragon Theatre for six seasons and has also worked with the Canadian Stage Company, The Corporation of Roy Thomson Hall & Massey Hall, The Theatre Centre, The Fringe of Toronto Festival, and Artscape. As Manager of Buildings for Artscape, he was deeply involved in the technical design of the performance spaces in Daniels Spectrum, a community cultural hub in Regent Park.

Roger has specialized in the design & construction of mechanical & electronic special effects for the theatre. Clients include Livent, Theatre Passe Muraille, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche, Soulpepper Theatre Company, Toronto 2015 Panamania, and Obsidian Theatre Company. He is currently involved with the design & construction of animation & special effects for the annual Legends of Horror at Casa Loma.
