Early Registration Deadline is Dec 13

Please note that the early registration deadline – December 13th - for the Winter Semester is fast approaching.

In order to hold your child’s current lesson time, you must register by this date. Registration opens December 8th, 2014. Students who register after December 13th cannot be guaranteed that their lesson time or their teacher will remain the same. Please note that there is also a discounted fee available for most courses when students register by the deadline.

Finally, please note that the Winter and Spring terms are both 10 week semesters.

End-of-Term Open House

As usual, our Pre-Instrumental and Orff Classes will all be holding Open House on either the final Saturday or the second last Saturday of classes.

This is a great opportunity to observe class activities first hand and talk briefly with the teacher. Please confirm details with your child’s teacher. If you missed our Early Childhood Information Sessions earlier in November, please feel free to stop by the office for a hand out.

MusicFest Preview Dec 13

This year’s MusicFest Nationals will be held in Toronto in May, 2015.

Our junior jazz groups are preparing for the Regional Festival in February, with hopes of a subsequent invitation to the National Festival! In addition, a number of our senior students will be performing at the festival and applying for National level ensembles and scholarships. Come on out on December 13th for a sneak preview of these outstanding young musicians!

December Cafeteria Concert

Well, the weather may have us somewhat confused as to whether we’re heading into the Winter or Spring semester, but the fact is that we are quickly approaching the end of the Fall Semester.

This means classes will be preparing for classroom open houses and our December Cafeteria Concert. We encourage everyone to set aside time on December 13th to hear some great music as our combos will be performing from 9:30 am – 4 pm in the cafeteria!

Shout Out

A big 'shout-out' goes to all of the junior ensembles who travelled to Vancouver to participate in the MusicFest Nationals where the four groups won three Silver Awards and a Gold Award!

Congratulations to the members of these ensembles and a special thanks to the Parent Committee and all of the participating parents who helped make the excursion a trip to remember!

We'd also like to acknowledge several of our senior students who were named to National Honour Bands – Anson Cai, Daniel Guerrette, Teo Srnic, Zachary Stuckey, and Brandon Tse.

Once again, congratulations to all of our graduating students and best wishes to them for their continued success in whatever field of study they have chosen!
