Cultural Policy

Course Code: ARTC 5203

Academic Year: 2017-2018

Through a survey of key policy documents, along with works of criticism, students will understand how cultural policy is made, influenced by stakeholders, and is imbedded or absent in current issues confronting the arts and culture sector today. While the theory and practice of cultural policy may appear remote from the everyday concerns of arts managers, this introductory course links major Canadian cultural policies to concrete applications of relevance to arts administrators.
